Changing the desktop icon of an excel workbook

I am able to change the desktop icon of a shortcut to my custom .ico file however I want to change it on a workbook. I would like to do this in VBA so that when I send out the workbook it appears to be this specific icon rather then appearing to be an excel workbook.

I know that there is a way to change all files that have the same type (.xlsx in our case) to another icon, but not a particular file without using 3rd party software. That said, I'm not sure (and I am doubtful) that the file would maintain that icon when received in an email by another user.
