Unhappy copying a range of cells from one workbook to another automatically

I have a source file in which the data can change daily (it is an output XML file) I need to insert a set of of formulas in this file to give me new data. This would not normall be a problem except for the fact that this file is deleted and recreated (with the same filename) every day.

My idea is to have a seperate excel file which looks at a range of columns (for example BR:CC), copy them into the file, run a Macro to insert the formulas and have the data written back to a blank column in the original spreadsheet

My problem is I need a formula or macro to select the active data (ignoring everything past the last row) and a second one to write the data I need back. I have looked at all types of options but cant get anything to work.

I am starting to pull my hair out!! any guidance would be most appreciated

    Hello capitarno,

    Welcome to the Forum!

I am probably not alone when I say that I am completely lost trying to follow your post. To which file are your to here:
I have a source file in which the data can change daily (it is an output XML file) I need to insert a set of of formulas in this file to give me new data. This would not normall be a problem except for the fact that this file is deleted and recreated (with the same filename) every day.

Is it the source file or the XML file? The same holds for the other two paragraphs.

Please help us to understand which file you are referring to. Also, if you have samples of these files, include them in your next post. You should, if possible, include before and after examples of the file results.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
