    Complex Macro Help

    Hi all,

I have a friend who needs help with some macros. She has asked me to figure out three macros for her and I don't think I'm capable of creating these. Any help?

The first one does not use relative references:

    1. Removes all existing subtotals; sorts by location then by last name (alphabetical); uses subtotal feature to create a sum subtotal for salaries by location.

    2. Removes all existing subtotals; sorts by title in alphabetical order then by salary with the highest salaries listed first for each title; uses the subtotal feature to create an average subtotal for salaries by title.

    3. Removes all existing subtotals; sorts by performance then by using a custom sort that arranges performance in this sequence: excellent, good, average, poor. Secondary sort is by gender with females listed first; uses the subtotal feature to create a count subtotal by performance.

Please let me know if anyone can help! I told her I was okay in excel and this is what I got haha. Guess I'm not as good as I thought I was!

    Thanks all

    Re: Complex Macro Help

Try recording macros while you carry out the actions listed above, That will give you the basic code, warts and all. From there, you will probably need help tweaking and generalising the code.

Note that it is kinda difficult to give you any specific guidance without seeing the structure and content of the workbook/worksheets. You really need to post a sample workbook with some typical data ... and the code that you have recorded ;-)
