    Simple Macros Crashing Excel

    Hello,

I have attached a very simple spreadsheet that I use here at work. When other people open it, it crashes...but it works fine on my computer. Does anyone have any issues with the attached or does anyone see any problems with the attached.

I am trying to figure out if the problem is the spread sheet or if it something else.

    Thank you

    Hi

The file opens okay for me in Excel 2000 and 2010, cannot see any obvious reason for crashing. what versions of excel and windows are causing the problems?

    Regards

    Jeff

Tested the file and had no problems. To be honest, I imagine there is a problem with the computers that have issues. All of your code seems relatively simple, well put together, and universal across versions of Excel.

I have 2 people try it with Excel 2007 and this is what happens. They can open it, fill out all the data...save it to their computer. Then when they reopen the spreadsheet it then crashes every time.

I tried it and after saving and reopening, Excel crashed and I was prompted with "Error loading DLL".

Thank you for the help. I checked and there are no references that state missing. I have the following checked:
    • Visual Basic For Applications
    • Microsoft Excel 14.0 Object Library
    • OLE Automation
    • Microsoft Office 14.0 Object Library
    • Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library
    • Microsoft Outlook 14.0 Object Library

You need to check the references on a machine where it fails.

    Hello...

I just went over and checked and there are no missing references either that are checked or unchecked. Thank you, any other thing it might be?

    Thanks!

Are you sure? Do those users have Outlook 2010 installed? If not, they should have a missing reference.

Yeah the guy next to me has Office 2007, and had just 4 things checked in his Excel VBA References none of which said missing.

Now they all do have Outlook 2007...is there something in Outlook that I should look for?

    Thanks for you continued assistance.

You need to test with your workbook open on his machine. The workbook has a reference to Outlook 14 set so it should be broken on his machine.

THANK YOU!!! That was it, it was missing the reference. I didn't do it with the workbook open last time. So I assume the reference is for Office 2010, so their Office 2007 does not have it.

In order to fix this, I just simply need to save it with out that reference checked right? Or is there something you recommend? I guess I wasn't sure that they are missing it due to their Office being 2007 version, or if they are supposed to have it...but do not.

Thank you, this has bugged me for so long!
