Looking for PING with Hostname and MAC address

Hello All,

Am new to Forum and to Excel programming and need some assitance.

Looking for a way to ping a list of IP(s) from within my workbook, then record:

Hostname (if ping good), MAC address (also if ping good), and status of PING.

I have seen some different instances of the programming but have trouble putting it all together.

I am using Office 2010.

wouldn't you be better of just using say terraterm and recording into a text file?

am not familiar with Terraterm.

The IP(s) I am trying to ping are not a full subset/range, but rather, random IP(s) that have been assigned to devices. The IPs change at times so I need to confirm if my workbook has a good IP with the correct Hostname.

I plan on comparing hostname with the hostname that was replied and then do conditional formatting.
