Hello!
Here's what I did:
1. New Excel 2003 workbook.
2. Type "Header1" in A1 and "Header2" in B1.
3. Type "a" in A2 and "b" in B2.
4. Data> List> Create List.
5. Select A1:B2. Check "My List Has Headers."
6. Right-click A2 and B2, Format Cells, Protection tab, Uncheck Locked.
6. If you click on A2, you get an asterisked row where you can enter the data for the next row (A3).
7. Now do Tools>Protection>Protect Sheet. Make sure only "Select UN-locked cells" is checked.
Now with the sheet protected, with your cursor in A2, you don't get that asterisked "next entry row" thing.
For my application,
a) I want to be able to use lists.
b) The user needs to be able to delete user-selected rows from the list.
c) The user needs to be able to add rows below where the cursor is.
d) The sheet needs to stay protected.
Any ideas on how to make this all work?
I have a DelRows code that I started, but I can't figure out why I don't get the asterisked row on a protected sheet.
