    Array converts text into date

    Hi

I have a range which I'm trying to load into array then I paste this data elsewhere, once I tweek it, however some of the data is stored as text and the array saves this in a date format. e.g. in cell A1:A4 I have values '10 - 11 which the array stores as 10/11/2011, is there any way to force the array to take the value without changing its format?

I've tried setting the cell format to general or text but this makes no difference. Currently I'm having to save the values in A1:A4 as a variable and paste them elsewhere separately.

    Thanks

When pasting, you can use Paste Special, (Alt, E, S), and then paste more than just the default values. This way you can also copy/paste the number formats, so that 10 - 11 general formatted cell will stay as general rather than being auto-converted into date.

Thanks that does work, I prefer not using copy and paste but I don't I think I have any choice.

    Thanks again
