Is it possible to get the Electric Meter Reading Effect while updating any Changes?

Is it possible to get the Electric Meter Reading Effect while updating any Changes?

    Dear Forum,

Most of us are Familiar with the OLD Electric Meter Reading Machine in which the Meter reading updates from below, the numbers move from below when Electiricity is being consumed...

This is also present in Automobiles too...Howver now we have the Digital Electric Meters but the Fun of the OLD ones still remains..

Is it possible to get the same effect during a Scroll Bar Changes connected to a Electricity Meter Reading Model just to make it more Authentic and add fun..as this is going to be used fro training school-kids.

    Warm Regards

    Bob,

I think Andy has rightly pointed out that and its shown in the Link the numbers mmoving from Top to Bottom or vice-versa...

My Concept was to download the most Apt Image for an Electric Meter and place it over a coded Dial as shown then this would be attached to several sroll-bars with the most commonly used appliances and their consumption.

@Andy, Its just amazing and I think it was done in 2004 woow so cooll...
Thats exactly what I was looking out for but the only thing is I need to break it out fo the User-Form as an Image ...

So can you just guide me in that I would prefer to have Unit Comsumtion in 6 Digits if possible...the bigger the better.. :

    Warm Regards

The progress bar uses a single image and alters it's top position. The frame masks the parts of the image not to be displayed.

You can use the same approach on a worksheet but instead of a frame you can use shapes to mask areas where the image will be placed but not shown.

    Dear Andy Pope,

Can you please elaborate that, I have not used the Progress bar till now..

I intend to connect the value to be shown in the Meter to the Summation formed from 4-5 Scroll-Bars which are depiction of Electrical Appliances such as FAN,TV,COMPUTER,WASHING-MACHINE ETC..

Can you please add an example in the Sheet if possible as most of the examples on google for a Progress bar are concerning a UserFOrm..

Not sure what is too be elaborated on.

you need to put images on the worksheet that are similar to those used on the progress meter. That is a vertical stack of digits.

The image needs to be place behind other shapes that will mask the stack of digits.
The effect you are after is like looking through a letterbox as the stack of digits is moved up or down.

    Dear Andy,

Thanks a lot for the File its indeed very useful..REally Appreciate it...

NOt only will it help me in understanding but also give me an idea of the layout as it was actually impossible for me to have figured out the actual procedure as I have never used one..

Can I increase the the Dial to 6 Digits for managing bigger consumption depiction..
I think so, yes but then can you please explain me the code so that I can add the 3 more Dails to make it into 6-digit Meter.

One more thing there's a Button for Show Progress but it cannot run the Macro as its not included..

the button is there because I copied the sheet from the progress example file.

At least attempt to expand the example yourself.

The code and example are pretty self explanatory.
You break down the value in to units, ten, hundreds etc. and then determine the position of the images based on that information.

I have tweaked Andy's wonderful idea a bit, so as to remove all that flickering. I also added a 4th dial, to give you an idea of the changes you need. Of course, it would be better to make the code generic, a loop for the specified number of dials).
