use existing creation date of workbook with newly created .saveas workbook

Can anyone please tell me if a workbook is opened in a vba macro and this workbooks creation date captured and then do a .saveas to a new workbook with the new workbooks creation date the same as the existing workbooks creation date? If so, what is the VBA code to be able to do this?

    Thank you

    Hello dwr0211,

Your post is difficult to understand. It appears that you want to know if a newly created workbook can be saved in some manner and have the same creation date as the original workbook. If so then the answer is no. If you're wanting to know if it can be changed to match then the answer is yes it can.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

Re: use existing creation date of workbook with newly created .saveas workbook

Yes, I have a macro that opens an excel file/workbook, changes the contents of the workbook and then does a saveas to another workbook in a different directory.. I would like the newly created workbook to have the same creation date as the workbook that was opened in the macro. From your comment the .saveas will not save the new workbook with the creation date of the opened/existing workbook, however the new work book creation date can be changed. How do I change the new workbooks creation date to the existing workbooks creation date?
