Find Blank cell in column then Fill Up

Forgive me, but I am a total newbie when it comes to Macros and VBA in excel. So you may have to hold my hand a bit.

I want to search a column for blank cells. When a blank cell is found I want to use the Fill Up function to copy the contents from the cell below the blank cell.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    klassic,

Please TEST this FIRST in a COPY of your workbook (always make a backup copy before trying new code, you never know what you might lose).

Without a macro, try the following.

Select the column of data, press F5, click Special, tick Blanks, click OK.
    Press =
    Press the Down arrow
    Press CTRL + Enter
Select the column, Edit > Copy, Edit > Paste Special, tick Values, click OK.

Thank you stan. I tried your method first, because I have never worked with macros. They kinda intimidate me right now. Rylo thank your for your post, I didn't try it out, but I am sure it may be able to help someone else in the future.

Stan, your method was easy to follow and allowed me to get done what I needed. I will definitely be back here if I need any more help with excel.

    hi rylo (or anyone available),

is there a way to adjust this macro so that I can have it fill in the last date of any month? I need the blank cells to popluate with the current months last date (if that makes sense).

    thank you

    Stan,

Not sure about anyone else, but the above F5 method worked fantastic for what I needed. I just used the "up arrow" instead of down and saved myself an hour of work each week.

Should have came here a year ago...
