Affecting folders and files with excel spreadsheet

    Hello,
I have a very simple spreadsheet of the names of about 10 folders (in the A column) and the names of about 15 files (in the 1 row), I currently have them hyperlinked to their corresponding file or folder (I don't know if that will help or not).

What I want to do is place a file in a folder by simply putting an x in their cross section (C3 would take the file I have liked to A3 and put it into the folder I have hyperlinked to C1).

I need to do this because there are times where I need to put all 15 files in one of the folders and only 3 in the next, which is very time consuming.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Click GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to post up a copy of your workbook. Let us see these file/folder strings and give a clearer example or two citing fully at least one example of the strings in your workbook.

The first paragraph of your question contradicts the content of the second one.
    The hyperlinking is superfluous.
    But, neverthesless:

if the folders in A2:A15 and the filenames in B1:P1
