    Create a searchable listbox

    Hi all.

I have a spreadsheet with a column of data I want to be searchable, when one is selected I want the data linked to that to be displayed as a graph. I have this setup now using a listbox using form control. I was wondering if It is possible to have this searchable as currently I have 100+ items, sorting them only makes it easier to some extent. I've been searching for a while now and all I seem to find are VB ways to do it, and to my (very limitited) knowledge this is not a feature in excel 2008 (mac version).

I'm pretty new to playing around with this kind of stuff in excel so any help is welcome.

    Thanks, James

    Re: Create a searchable listbox

    Hello jay-pea,

    Welcome to the Forum!

I know that ActiveX controls were not supported in the release of Excel 2008 and that is what you would need to have the automatic lookup feature in the control. Forms controls don't support the automatic lookup feature.

Not being a Mac expert, I can not say for certain what options are open to you. It may be possible to construct something using Apple Script. You would need to visit some Apple groups for Apple Script to get an answer, unless some Mac user here at the forum knows how to do it.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
