Insert a value in Column "C" based on the Total in Column "A"

Hi All,

i need to know if its possible and if it is possible can someone help with the following....

Is it possible to have the code to add up the number of rows in say COLUMN A then in the same code insert,copy or whatever a certain"Word" into column C based on the answer given by the total rows in Column A

I Hope this is possible it would be really awsome if someone could help or even think of a better way of doing it

you will see in cokumn A "vendorID" the information has been filled in. and what i would like is for some VBA code to Add up the number of rows in "Vendor ID" and then put that number asside and then use the total of the number to insert a word that many times into Collumn I and Column O

Welcome to the Forum!


To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

To Attach a File:

1. Scroll down to the window below your post Additional Options
2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
3. Click the button.
4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
6. This will open a new window File Upload.
7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
10. Close the window and then click Submit.
