separate worksheet data into multiple workbooks

    Hi,

I am trying to separate data from one master worksheet into multiple workbooks based on a specific column. For example, I have the first row as the header row. In column B, it list physician names. I want all the data for each physician separated into new workbook named with the physician's last name and first initial as well as the current month and year. Is there a macro that can do this? Attached is a example of the data I have.

This is doable. But we will have a problem with the data you have provided. You said the workbook should be renamed as the physician's last name + Initial of the first name. In your sample data, you have John Doe (Doe J) and James Doe (Doe J). Once the 2nd file is ready, it will over-write the 1st. Wouldnt you prefer changing the naming convention then?
