How to have formulas in place but not have "0" showing

Hi - I am creating a worksheet where I want to have each column ready populated with formulas - the hard key data which the formulas rely on would be blank until populated until the user uses that row. Until that time I would like the cells to remain blank, not being populated by "0" or "ref" etc.

Is there a way to make this happen?

The A column is the first hard key cell (title of programme) - when this is filled could the rest of the cells "come alive" and their formulas be displayed? But until then I would like the cells to remain visually empty

    Thanks

    Rupert

    or this:
if(isblank(A2),A2,yourformula). Copied down the column, of course.
