Formatting a cell specifically by date

    Hi,

I really need your help. I have a worksheet about our daily hotel customer. There are check in and check out dates in every column. We want to create a housekeeping check list in order to follow room maintenance report.

To explain what I need, I want to tell you an example:
For example, guest check in date is 5/12/2011 and check out date 9/12/2011
In another column or worksheet, an "X" will be entered automatically "in a one-day interval"

I mean, another worksheet will include symbolical dates (like 1, 2, 3...) or real dates, and the automation will put an X to the cells at interval:

Since the guest will be at hotel between 5/12/2011 and 9/12/2011, then

    dates:
    5
    6 X
    7
    8 X
    9

    6 and 8 must have an X

    Thank you in advance

    Re: Complex formula

Sadath, May I request something? I have to make 2 lists in different purposes; and I don't want to fill the check in and check out dates two times: How can I make a connection with two worksheets? I mean, If I fill in check-in and check-out days in the worksheet one; automatically, check-in and check out dates should be created in the list which you made and uploaded here.

I also have to make another worksheet, but this time it must be "two days intervals" and last day (check out day) ALWAYS must have an X. Sample:

check in date: 5/12/2011 check out day: 12/12/2011

    5
    6
    7 X
    8
    9
    10 X
    11
    12 X

In normal situation, 12 shouldn't need an X but it's check out day.

check in: 5/12/2011 Check out: 7/12/2011

    5
    6
    7 X

I tried to make it from the excel you uploaded, however I couldn't handle it

Thank you much and much again.
