Hi there,

I would like to protect certain columns of data in a particular worksheet. On the worksheet, I would like to let users have the ability to to click on a button. When they want to modify the records or formula, they would have to enter the right password in order to activate the worksheet modification property(if it actually exists in Excel 2007)

By default, I would just want users to view the sheet and be able to click on a button. The function of the button is to select records and export to a new file. (I want this fully functionally even though the worksheet is locked)

can this be done? So I guess my question is.....does individual column have the "locked" property as in Access? I would like to lock certain columns so that users don't accidentally modify records in those columns.

I realized that if I simply use the protect worksheet from the toolbar, it will protect the entire sheet, wont' it? How do I get around it?

Thank you
