need independent rank for data in 3 columns.

    hey guys,
I tried to use what other people have asked for help with and since each situation is different from mine nothing really worked.

    Here is what i have:

I have a list of Items (not important for ranking), Column D has 1L, 1R, 2L, 2R, 3L, 3R, 4L, 4R (duplicate work being done respectively for all entries). Next in Column I there is a list of lines each job is on (1-100). then in Column N there is a list of dates work is to be started. The ranking needs to be independent for both Column D and N based off of column I. it would look kind of like this:

    help with Rank.xls

so again i need the Ranking of the start date per line and section put into Column "C".

I am sorry i do not know the correct wording for what i need to get done, but i hope you get the idea what i am talking about. the work is repeated for each number in Column "N". i do not want to have a continued ranking of all the jobs for every instance of that job on every line. I need each line ranked as a single grouping.

Thank you for helping me out.

Hello rlbaker22 and welcome to the forum. I think it would be best if you could upload a mock workbook with mock data (no personal or sensitive data) with both before and after scenarios clear displayed.

To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'.
To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'.
Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments.

You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page.
Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page.

To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file.

To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page.
Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
If you're happy with someone's help, click that little star at the bottom left of their post to give them Reps.
