    Unhappy Generating Snapshot

I'm looking to prepare a day-end performance snapshot out of a daily log.

    What is Day-end performance snapshot?
It will contain summary of the entire day, a lighter version of daily log which is very descriptive and bulky as it contains very complicated formulas and detailed analysis of each and everything.

I've prepared a template for Day-end performance snapshot so as to provide uniformity. We are following the following naming convention:

Log has MC+current date and is saved in the d: drive
Snapshot has Snap+current date and is saved in the c: drive

I want to generate the snapshot automatically on the c: drive based on the structure of the template.xls which is available saved on the c: drive.
It should be named as per above mentioned naming convention.

How can I export data from certain columns and rows from the log file to this performance template.

When you don't get responses on this forum, it is usually because people don't understand what you're trying to do.

It would perhaps be an idea to post a sample of your data - obviously dummy values that are confidential but ensure that your sample is an accurate reflection of what you're working with.

    Re: Generating Snapshot

    thanks for the feedback.

I want to export certain rows/columns/worksheets from a main log to an existing template so that I can create a lighter version of the log.

Template is saved on the c: drive whereas the main log file is on D: drive.

Original template.xls should not change and the data should go to a copy of template.xls at the same location

    1. I have a template in C:\ Dive

    2. I have a Performance log for each day in D:\ Drive -

    3. I'm looking for a functionality that would allow me

    - to export a sheet from performance log to this template.
    - to export me a certain rows from performance log to this template.
    - to export me a certain columns from performance log to this template.
    - For each day I want to generate a seperate performance snapshot.

    Hi Pigggy,

If you want 'real' help then we need to see 'real' workbooks. You can dummy up the data but the workbook structure of the template nad the performance logs is essential. If you want a quick fix then we can give you links to similar problems and how they were resolved, but you will have to have a working knowledge of vba and be able to make changes as need be.

The ball is in your corner.
