Pivot: Replace month numbers with month names and sort by fiscal year

In creating a projection (a monthly task) I have to create a pivot table. One of the fields that's brought into my PT is the months of the year. The data source has these denoted as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Our fiscal year begins with September, so the correct order of the months is Sept, Oct, Dec, Jan, etc, or 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3...

How would I, via VBA, make 9 march to the left of my data field, and all the other numbers line up next to it in their correct locations?

BTW, I have access to the data source, so could easily convert my numbers to month names, if that helps any.

Thanks in advance for any help I get, and a big Happy New Year to anyone who reads this.

    Thanks,
    John

You could change the numbers to month names, add a custom list (Sep, Oct, Nov, ...) and then sort.

Replacing the month names is an easy one, but I don't think I understand about a 'custom list'. Care to explain further for the dull of mind?
