    Control Panel for Charts?

    Hi,
I'm looking to create a chart where I can give users the option to select what items they want to look at on the chart.

For example, if I have line chart plotting out monthly trends, I would have 3 options:
    1. Budget
    2. Actuals
    3. Forecast

Instead of having all 3 lines show up at the same time, the user would have the option of selecting just one of the 3 items, or 2 of the 3 items, or maybe even all 3 items.

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you so much in advance!

    Hi Nicky,
Yup! That's pretty much what I'm looking for...except I need the dates across under Columns, and the Data Series down under Rows. Also, How can I add more data series or change some of the charts to bar?

    Thanks!

    For example...
Here's what I'm trying to make interactive...there's a lot of data..and a lot of lines and bar graphs... I want the user to be able to choose which items he/she wants to look at.

    Hi
Here is another shot, based on Jon Peltier’s excellent website
    (well worth a look - here http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/Dynamics.html)

It is simpler than the first one as it uses only formulas not macros and means you can change the contents of the chart range or add series fairly easily (just create a new row with a checkbox linked to e.g. cell D33, and extend the source range for the chart). The only downside is that the vacant series remain as lines in the legend, though their labels disappear. The only way I can think of to remove these is using a macro.
