Extract Data from Multiple Workbooks to One Sheet

    Hello!

I have been doing some research on the internet to get help with this but I have not found anything that addresses this design that I can understand.

I have already developed a macro that successfully copies the designated fields from the multiple tabs into a spreadsheet one line at a time. Open workbook, run macro, data is where it is expected.

Now I need to take that same code and use it within a macro that will open multiple worksheets (900+) and populate each line in a spreadsheet - one for each workbook. The workbooks will be in a file named Student_Workbooks.

    Thanks for your help!

    Are you opening 900 workbooks?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook. Don't upload a picture when you have a workbook question. None of us is inclined to recreate your data. Upload the workbook and manually add an 'after' situation so that we can see what you expect. In addition clearly explain how you get the results..
To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'.
To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread.

On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'.
Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments.

You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page.
Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page.

To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file.

To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page.
Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'.

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
    Hope that helps.

Re: Extract Data from Multiple Workbooks Into One Spreadsheet

Thank you. I hope I am continuing this thread in the correct form. I am attaching:
    1. A prototype of what I am using for testing - "Test Workbook.xlsx"
    2. An output file prototype as it currently exists from running the macro, one workbook at a time. The Marcro in this workbook is functioning correctly, except for handling multiple workbooks in one execution - "Test File Review Detail.xlsm"

It accesses the open workbook "Test Workbook.xlsx" and extracts data one field at a time from first the "Courses" tab, then the 2006-2007 tab, 2007-2008 etc. Only some of the data is extracted. All of the data from one workbook is in one line of the resulting spreadsheet.

I plan to execute this in batches of 50 or so files at a time. These workbooks are being developed by multiple parties. The actual workbook contains more tabs for multiple years but I deleted those to simplify this example.

Let me know if you need anything else.
