Run-time error ‘429’ ActiveX component can’t create object

Hi guys,

I have been using an ActiveX worksheet for a couple of years without issue. I have just “upgraded” to Windows 7 and Excel 2010 and now the problems have started. I am slowly working my way through them but I’ve got to one which has me stumped.

I’ve posted the code below.

I get error 429 in the following code at the line starting:
Set objTWSControl = New cTWSControl

What is cTWSControl? It looks like a custom class. Does it reference anything that isn't available in Windows 7?

If it's a calendar control then Excel 2010 does not support them. See non-activeX alternatives here, in the DatePicker section

Thanks Kyle and Roy for your replies. I did not write the software and just installed it and played around with it. cTWSControl does look to be a Custom class that works on XP & Excel 2003 but NOT on W7 & Excel 2010. With my limited knowledge I'm not sure if it's a calendar control.

The problem actually does seem to be with Windows 7 because I have just installed Excel 2003 on the new machine and I'm getting the same problem.

Why do MS change their OS so much that software can't work?
