    Macros to view Hidden Sheets

I am making a large spreadsheet (around 250 sheets), most of which contain two charts. They will be named a three digit number from 001-399 and will all be hidden. I want there to be a home sheet that has a button on it that allows the user to type in the three digit number for the sheet they want to see and then only that sheet pop up.

This part isn't necessary, but I'd like it if the sheet that pops up can have a "close" button that will close the sheet and return them to the home sheet.

The problem is that I don't know anything about macros or how to make them run. I don't figure this to be a hard code...is there anyone here that can help me?

The data has already made the spreadsheet too large to attach. Anyone willing to take a look if I email it to them? Please PM me.

Thank you to anyone who can help, please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi vpanicker and welcome to the Excel Forum. Let me know how the following workbook meets your criteria.

    Something like...

Please Login or Register to view this content.
This will pop up a box for the user to type the exact sheet name and will make that sheet visible. As far as the close button, a keyboard shortcut to hide the current page again would be easier than a button on each sheet. Also, a button on the home page to make all other sheets hidden might work? Let me know.

YES!!! This is exactly what I would need. The only change is that I need the button to say "Refresh" and the pop-up to say "Enter Org Number".

How do I go about adding this to my spreadsheet? I can send you my spreadsheet so you can take a look at how it is currently set up so that you can ensure the code will work correctly.

Hi, you need to click the button on the excel ribbon that says "Design Mode". Once you do that, right click the button and then select "Properties". You'll see the word "Caption". Directly to the right of "Caption", you can enter whatever name pleases you. When done, select (or deselect) the "Design Mode" button. All should be good. If you want to upload a workbook then by all means but you should be able to do this without error. Either way it's up to you.
