Extract Data and paste in Summary File

    Hi:

Please refer to attached excel file for referance.
2 source files and 1 destination file.

    I have lots of Excel files (02-15 to 29-2012 Athens.xls ,02-15 to 29-2012 Crockett.xls, and so on in C:\Clients\

All of the excel files have the same format.

This is what I want to achieve.

I would like to extract certain data from each of the .xls files and
paste in new excel file called Summary.xls (attached) as follows..

    File 02-15 to 29-2012 Athens.xls
    Copy C1 from 02-15 to 29-2012 Athens.xls and paste in A5 of Summary.xls

In all of the .xls file there will be header called "Transcriptionist" in Cell A12.
There will be list of transcriptionist from Cell C13 until where the name "Total" appears.

Each Transcriptionist would have corresponding line count data from D13 and down.

Now need to paste all the names of Transcriptionist from B5 and down and their corresponding
line count data in C5 and down.

The above information needs to be extracted from each .xls file and pasted in Summary.xls.

Pasting to be done where previous ended.

Please refer to attached files since i have done manually.

I would appreciate of some one can help with this task.

Please let me know if any questions.

Thanks and help is always appreciated.

    Hi jaslake:

    Thank you for your help.
    However i see a problem.
The source file may have list of unknown number ( could be 1,5,8, 20, any number) of Transcriptionist.

The way to know how many rows of data to paste is by copying an pasting all between the word "Transcriptionist" and "Total".

I hope this make sense...if not please let me know...

Thanks a lot for all the help you are providing.

    Hi rizmomin
Post two source files (with more that one but not the same number) that look like this so I can see it.
The source file may have list of unknown number ( could be 1,5,8, 20, any number) of Transcriptionist
