    Date Search

    Good morning all,

Attached is a sample of what I am working on.

    I have 3 buttons

    1) Search for date value of 3/7/2012 and locate the cell
    2) Search for date value of 3/8/2012 and locate the cell
    3) Search for Wednesday, March 07, 2012 and locate the cell

On the data column I have
    1) 3/7/2012
    2) Cell 1) + 1
    3) 3/7/2012 and I custom format to dddd, mmmm dd, yyyy (Display Wednesday, March 07, 2012)

I can get the first button to work locating cell with 3/7/2012, but not be able to get the 2nd and 3rd.

Please advice on how to search for date value from a formula and special format

    Thank you,

    NTBSearchDate.xlsm

    Re: Date Search

For the second you need to use the Find in Values rather than Formulas.
If the third cell is a number then there's no reason why a Find won't work. Mere formatting does not affect the underlying number. I suspect your third cell is probably a formula, in which case, and as for the 2nd cell use Find Values.

    Re: Date Search

Thank you for pointing that out. I get this to work but it's not very consistent. Not exactly what I did wrong.

Attached is a single button search and I just can't get it to locate 3/8/2012. Doesn't matter what I do.

    Re: Date Search

Thank you, but instead of manually enter 3/8/2012 on C1 we use the formula = A1+1 (3/7/12 + 1) = 3/8/12 then the find button will not work.
