Question Converting time to different denomination...

    Hi forum,

I'm making a song database for a university coursework project and I've copied and pasted the song information from my iTunes database. All was going well until I realised that Excel has assumed that the time column is hours and minutes rather than minutes and seconds.

Is there a way (perhaps a script) that will change what is effectively 03:45:00 to 00:03:45?

    Many thanks

    Matt

    Hello Matt,

You shouldn't need a macro, you can just divide all the times by 60.

    Try this

Put 60 in a blank cell then copy that cell

Select range of times and then right-click and use

Paste Special > Divide > OK > ESC

    now format times as required
