    Post Automatic Time Stamp

    Hello,

I'm trying to add a date formula in Column A to track all changes made within the rows. My objective is that each row needs a specific date and any time my data is updated within that row, I need only the date associated to that row to change to the date when the change was made to that specific row, however, I'm having an issue creating that formula. Can anyone please be of assistance?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Regards,
    Alexandria

    Re: Automatic Time Stamp

Thanks for the response, but I have no idea as to what you are referring to as I need a formula for my issue like "=MID(E2, 23, 3)" even though I know I can't use "=MID", I need some basic formula using the tools available in Excel 7 so any time the data in the applicable row updates, the date changes automatically. I have up to 20 cells poplulated in each row and over 3000 rows of data, so having an auto date will help when updating data in the row since I manage over 9000 rows of data within the complete spreadsheet.

    Thanks.

    Re: Automatic Time Stamp

From your Title it seems that you need a particular column to get Time Stamp whenever theres an entry in the adjacent cell(s) in the same row..
Now if that's correct then you just need to paste this code in the Sheets Sheet Code for that you need to go in the View Code by right clickingthe Tab Name.

Once you have pasted this code if you enter any data in the Column B Row 2 i.e B2 then the cell A2 will get a Time Stamp which will be Static and you cannot get his using the Now() formula as everytime the sheet calculates it will change..

    So, hope this clarifies...!
