    Trying to get ADDIN tool to work

    I got this code to install an addin from the internet however I cannot get it to work ,not sure what I am doing wrong.

    This is the code in the addin macro in my worksheet which is saved as an addin . My actual macro sheet is attached
    what am I doing wrong?

    That code adds a Commandbar. It's not really suitable for Excel 2010 but you will find the commandbar in the addins tab.

    It will only run when the addin is installed, your example is not an addin

    I have actually installed the addin created with this macro which is tool.xla in the normal addins folder and the .However I keep getting an error

    What error? It should be .xlam for Excel 2007

    I am getting the basic error "cannot run the macro file" . but Can I use this excel file as .xla itself (see attached)

    I'm not sure what you have done. I don't think the buttons actually run any code.

    SO how do I convert this worksheet into a new addin ?.Is there a better tutorial somewhere?
