    dates imported incorrectly

    Hi there!

I don't know if it's even possible to correct this issue, but I have a column of dates that was imported incorrectly. For example, 2006-10-11 8:30 is how it looks in excel, when in actuality, the date supposed to be imported was June 10, 2011 8:30. (or probably originally 06-10-11 8:30). I don't have access to the original data, but was wondering if there would be a way to correct these incorrect dates. I tried the substitute and replace functions, but they don't seem to work. Help!

(P.S. I'm not experienced at VBA or any kind of code, so you may need to walk me through any solutions!)

    Cheers,

    Heather

    Re: dates imported incorrectly

I would not use a macro for this.

    Try this.

    1. Make sure the dates are formatted the way you wish.
    2. If they are all off by the same number of days(required a calculation by you), then
    a. Enter the difference in days into a cell(any).
    b. Copy that value.
    c. Select all the dates that are off(incorrect).
    d. Use paste-special and select Add. This should add the number of days to those dates and correct them.

If your dates are not all incorrect by the same number of days, you are SOL.
