    Command buttons in Excel 2000?

I wrote in a few days ago about using command buttons to create a "call ticker" for an employee timesheet. The help I received for the forum worked great, except I wrote the code in Excel 2010. My company only has Excel 2000, so when I brought in my file today, everything but the command button seems to be working.

The button appears, but whenever I hover over it, it doesn't allow me to click. I thought I might be in developer mode, but I don't think that's the case. Does Excel 2000 support ActiveX command buttons?

Also, I'm not quite sure how to check if I'm in developer mode in Excel 2000 (since there is no ribbon). If you could provide me information on that too, that would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

In Excel 2000, open the file and replace the button.

How would I do that? My apologies, I have not used these functions in Excel 2000 before.

If you have an ActiveX Command Button, enter Design Mode. Right Click on the Button and see what Macro is assigned to the Button. Assign the correct procedure to the Button. If you have an issue with this, post your file...I'll be happy to look at it.

    Thanks jaslake,

I entered design mode and right-clicked on the button, but I don't see an option for checking the macro.

I would prefer not to post the file in public, given that it contains proprietary information. But I can send it via private message if you like.

    Thanks for the help!
