Autofill from a list as i type in the same cell

Hi guys,

I am very new at Excel, and i appreciate any assistance,

what i am trying to create is a radio call log, tracking by a call sign of a mobile unit,

what i want to do, is type in a cell, and as i type have a dropdown list appear for the same cell, narrowing the results as you type more.
the trick is, picking the drop down results from a pre set list on another sheet, not going on previous data in the same column.
any suggestions?

The combo boxes of userforms do this. Perhaps you could explore this.

Data>validation is another option, but it wont fill as you type.
