    Trapping excel application event

Hi all!, Is there a way to trap application event such as Application.screenupdating = True?. My problem is that in my workbook, I am executing a DLL that is turning the Application.Screenupdating to "On" and I need to have that functionality "Off" so that the users don't see the screen flickering.

Any help or advise on this matter is greatly appreciated.
