VBA to search, open and print to pdf.

    Hi all,

I have an excel sheet (2007, not 2010) that contains a part number/s, the part number is linked to a drawing number. (or at least I can extrapolate it)
I want to use the part number/s to search a directory and its subfolders, find the drawing (its a *.dft) open it its native application and print it as a pdf to a named directory.
The reason is I have hundreds of part numbers, so I want a single button press to automate the action. or it will take me a long long time.
Is this asking a bit much? how would I go about it. I am a VBA newbie.
I did spend some time looking at other files on the web, but they were for 2007 and I think the some of the code no longer exists in 2010.
If someone can point me in the right direction/help, I need it quickly, but who doesnt eh??
    Thanks

    Mike

    HI Alf,

Thats a really neat piece of code, but in my case I dont need to search for Excel files but a *.dft.
I tried to edit and modify it a bit to cope with this functionality but alas, its beyond me

Thanks for the link though, for excel searches its great.
