    Merging Duplicate Cells

Greetings everyone, I had a problem in merging duplicate cells while retaining the values in separate rows.
I have duplicates in single column while another column have different values, and I would like to merge the duplicate cells in column A, while still retaining all the values in column B's cells.

I have come across a few of other codes, and here is the closest one I am able to search:
    http://excel.bigresource.com/Track/excel-c3M4aJRx/
The first code was to clear the duplicates, the second code is able to merge the blank-cells between the cells that contain value(text), however it also merged some of the cells that have data (in between the blank-cells).
(The third code did not work for me though, it cleared most of the data.)

I have only limited programming knowledge, and I have tried to modify the code I have found above, but to no avail.
It would be much appreciated if anyone could provide me with a solution that could achieve this. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Merging Duplicate Cells

Should the duplicates in column A be merged or is it ok to retain any one of the dups without merging?

    Re: Merging Duplicate Cells

Thank you for taking notice in this issue. I would like to have the duplicates in column A merged into single cell, as I will need to use numbering for this column later on.

Can I ask why you want to do this? Also, have you considered using a pivot table? Tis may automatically produce the format you want

Merging cells is pretty messy in the long run and creates more problems than solutions. You should try and avoid using merged cells. I agree with Mallycat, the pivot table will give you the format that you need.

    Re: Merging Duplicate Cells

Thanks for the advices, I had tried pivot table before, but could not get the result I would like to have, as I need to use the excel table for reports, removing duplicates in the first column would be really helpful. I will try out watersev's solution.
