    How to determine factor A, B, C of quadratic equation

    Hi all,

    I have 2 columns:

    X = X1, X2, X3,X4...
    Y = Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4...

    Relationship between Y and X is quadratic equation: Y = AX^2 + BX + C

    How can i obtain A, B, C by Excel?

    Thanks for help!

    I prefer to use the LINEST() function. =LINEST(known_y's, known_x's^{1,2}) See help for the LINEST function for more details, and remember that LINEST is an array function, so it must be confirmed with ctrl-shift-enter.

    I don't see how you can obtain them by any means, unless you have some constraints on the values of A,B and C (e.g. all integers in the range 0-10)
