update numberical list when a line(s) are deleted

I have a list with 80 dopics in it In column A is the number 1-80 and column B is the text. If I take out row 3 I need the rows 4-80 to move up and become 3-79.

Can this be done?

If you use the formula

This will display the row number in the cell. Make sure you subtract the number of rows that are not being used. EX: if you have a header that is 10 rows long and you are going to start counting from 1 to 80 in the 11 row. You would use the formula

So that the first number is 1.

After that just drag the formula down 80 rows. When a row is deleted the formula will update.
