    If statment with a symbol

    I have a formula
Please Login or Register to view this content.

Instead if inserting an X I would like it to either insert a symbol of a check box or the symbol that is in A1.
When, I put A1 in place of the X it return an o, instead of the symbol that is in A1.

    Can anyone help me?

Re: If statment with a symbol

what is the symbol? do you have an example?

    --

I mean, are you inserting a different font in A1 (like a wingdings symbol) or are you talking about a inserted pictue, or something else entirely???)

Re: If statment with a symbol

Are you using the same font in the formula cell as you are in A1?

Posting an example may help clarify your problem

You may need to change the font of the result cell to match that of cell A1.

It would be a wingdings symbol. I also have a drawing of a circle that is green I would rather have, but either one will work.

Did you change the result cell format to the same wingdings font?

Okay. I think it is there.

My formual's start in C5. I would like for it to put either the symbol in A1 or A2 in place of the X. Either one is fine.

Re: If statment with a symbol

    Try:

    =IF(O5<1,"","R")

then format C5 to E18 cells to Font: Wingdings 2

Cell A1 is a shape, not a symbol, so you can't easily use it in an IF() function....
