    Converting data with multiple possibilities

    Hi All

    How can I make a cell produce a letter (A,B,C) wcontaining ahen a certain value is added. The value will be a number & letter combintion (7a or 6b etc).

    This is my range

    D = 5a,5b,5c C = 6a,6b,6c B = 7a,7b,7c A= 8a,8b,8c

    Not really sure what you're getting at but does

    =CHAR(73-LEFT(A1,1))
