Question on ability to connect Excel with Google Earth

I am currently working on a project that is compiling an extensive amount of data. I have a few questions about the abilities of excel.

My first question is whether or not I am able to bring information from an outside source into excel by having a formula that recognizes a path from excel into a folder with the required data in it. Basically, I am using waypoints in Google Earth for a specific function, and I need to gather the longitude and latitude of the points into excel. The waypoints have specific names and can be placed into a folder in bulk. Is there a macro or formula that will allow me to type the name of a point into a cell and have excel automatically use that name to gather the longitude and latitude of the point and bring those into seperate cells?

Also, is there a way I am able to choose a specified name from cell A(#) and depending on what pre-determined name I chose, it would be able to black out a cell in a column that is not used for that specific point.


Essentially I am using Google Earth to gather information and points for data for geographical features , then entering this information in a spreadsheet. The questions I asked above are for use as a major time saver rather than copying and pasting longitudes and lattitudes on hundreds of points into cells in excel, and disregarding certains cells that are not relevant to certain titled options in column A.
