Exclamation writing an If function linking to another workbook

    My dilemma:

If cell E4 on workbook2 (which is closed) contains value "123"
Then cell J14 on workbook1 (the active workbook) is = cell D5 on workbook2 (closed)

I've been toiling over this for days, I would greatly appreciate any help I can get!
    Thanks in advance!

Do you want to check if the cell E4 in Workbook2 contains "123" when opening Workbook2?
Be fore warned, I regularly post drunk. So don't take offence (too much) to what I say.

The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day...
