Menu Item Accessing Macro in Another File

    Hi

We have a file with several macros etc. Every month the previous month's file is opened, saved as the current month file and then used for the current month. The original file has been sent to several people and they each use it for their own data every month. The user accesses the macros via additional commands added on the bottom of the Tools menu.

One user who has used this file for a couple of years has recently developed a strange problem. The commands in the tools menu, are trying to access the macros from the previous month's file. For example, if she is in the April file and wants to use the Refresh Query command, the Assign Macro field of that command shows 'D:\folders\March file.xls!RefreshQuery' instead of 'April file.xls!RefreshQuery', and similar for the other macro commands. And then when she uses the May file, the Tools menu command is trying to access the macros in the April file.

I can't work out what causes this for that one person, and what can be done to fix it.

    Regards
    Sharon

assuming you use code to add controls to the Tools menu do you include the filename in the OnAction property and do you specify that they are temporary controls? also if the user closes and reopens the workbook, do the controls still point to the wrong workbook?
