VBA to autofill a cell based on the selection in another

Hi, I 'm new to this forum, so hi everyone.

I'm not sure how to select sub-categories yet, so I apologise if this is in the wrong place.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem. I have built a user form in excel that has a combo box on it, which is populated from a list of data on a worksheet.

the Code I have used is:
Please Login or Register to view this content.

What I want to do now is when an option is selected, it will fill column 'a' in worksheet1 with a corresponding code.

E.g. I select '1' from the combo box in the user form and the column A in worksheet1 is completed with 'a'. If they select '3', column A is completed with 'c'

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I think it's the VBA If function, but can't seem to tmake it work.

    Thanks in advance!
