    Post Extrapolation- Temperature vs. Time

Please, can you help me to figure out how to extrapolate to determine the maximum temperature.

I did the graph with the data and used a trendline, but the example for the lab looks different

I posted the picture of the example in the excel doc. please, can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Re: Extrapolation- Temperature vs. Time

The first difference I notice is that the example plot has time (t) on the x axis and temperature (T) on the y axis, where your plots have temperature on the x axis and time on the y axis. This can be controlled in whatever passes for the source data dialog in the newer versions.
Your charts are using a moving average trendline, which really can't be extrapolated. I can't tell what the example uses, but this sort of thing usually estimates T(t) using a linear function and extrapolates that function to whatever initial t is considered time zero.
As with a lot of problems posted here, you have to understand the math and thought process being used to solve the problem. I would suggest you review your problem statement until you understand how they did the extrapolation. Maybe even think through how you would solve the problem using only pencil and paper. Then, when you know how you want to solve the problem, we can help you figure out how to put that solution into a spreadsheet.
