How do I create a user-defined function in Excel 2011?

Hate to post a question when the answer is probably obvious, but the Help system in Excel 2011 for Mac OS doesn't seem to work very well.

I've finally gotten to a task for which I need to define a function, which I seem to need every couple of years or so, and... I'm stuck.

You should be able to open the VBE (Visual Basic Editor) with Opt+F11. In the VBE, Insert -> Module. Then you can create your UDF.
