    =DATE(LEFT(A1,4),MID(A1,5,2),RIGHT(A1,2))

    and format it as dd mmm yyyy

    Hi

    I think it depends on how the value was initially written in an excel cell. If that was 'as a text', then the above will work. You can also try a little modification (with '-'):

    =LEFT(A1,4)&"-"&MID(A1,5,2)&"-"&RIGHT(A1,2))

    can you post a spread sheet with two different examples in a1 and a2?
