cell colour name or index number

Hi all,

Is there is any way to find out colour index or name of particular cell.

i used some strange colour and not able to get its color name or index code..
I need info to hide rows based on that coloured cell rows..

Hi lifeseeker,

not it will not help..i am using 2010 excel i used some strange colour from pallete and i am not able to identify the colour code...
any macro stuff find exract the info

Put this function in a std module

Function showColIndex(targetcell)
showColIndex = targetcell.Interior.ColorIndex
End Function

and then reference the cell with this formula

=showColIndex(A1)

Change A1 to suit

P.S. you say you are using 2010 but your profile says 2007???
