Applying a "Left" formula to an entire column with heading "ValueCol"

How would I apply the "left" formula with 5 characters to a column with the header "ValueCol"

    Thank you for your time

Not sure this makes sense. You have 5 characters in the column, but what result are you seeking?

You can always look in Excel Help to see if this helps...

    Formula: copy to clipboard

I'm sorry, the original problem description was not very clear. The current code is:

I want one column named "TruncateCol" to truncate all the values in the column named "ValueCol". Maybe that makes a little more sense?

Thank you for taking the time to help me
