    Re: Employee attendance tracker

Sounds like you just need to look into the =COUNTIF(range, criteria) function...

I don't have any employee attendance tracker templates, but there are many places on the web to help get you started.

    Here are just a couple:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...001229125.aspx
    http://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTemplat...-tracking.html

If you get stuck, maybe post what you have built so far and we could give some direction.

    Re: Employee attendance tracker

    Hi Jeff,

I have prepared the attendance tracker, but the problem i am facing is Leave details are on the first sheet and Months are on different sheets when i am trying to apply "Countif" function(in cell E4) its giving me Error message "circular reference warning". what i am looking for is Leave details which is given a details page tells Maximum number of days that particular leave can be allotted, and under balance leave i wanted to track how many leave are pending of each kind for all the employee for the whole year, and i will be freezing Column A to D"
I am not really good at Excel,So Any suggestion to improve or add the tracker i will be really happy to hear.Book1.xlsx

Hey ncmay, Thanks for sharing that file. That File is really good but too complicated for me Explain to my supervisor i mean the "Formula part". can't it be possible to put in simple format(the file i attached), Including that "Drop down","Enter the year part" and "change of color after certain percentage or number of leave remaining".
Actually i don't know if we can use Countif function when Data are on different sheets.

    Re: Employee attendance tracker

Here is how I would approach this. Yes you can use the COUNTIF across multiple tabs, but this method may be easier since it will also give you results by the month.

Look at the attachment and you will see on each month (only did Jan and Feb) there is a block added at the end to total up each employee.

Then on the main sheet you just simply take a sum of that one cell across all tabs.

    @ akash kothari

Based on your last post it seems that you are satisfied with the solution(s) you've received but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.

    Re: Employee attendance tracker

I am using the employee absence tracker template (Excel) and am having a difficult time when I add employees. The line numbers don't change in the formula and everytime I change the numbers to coincide with the line an error. I have 40 employees I want to add to this existing template. I actually added everyone and then errors started popping up everywhere. I am not real familiar with excel and I thought this template would help make me look good .... but! Please take a look at the document and help me understand how this should work or if it will work. If you can get it to work, please add and I will be able to populate the months.

    Thanks!
