    adding numbers in cells

I'm adding data to a worksheet 1. the data is always in columns A to D but can vary in terms of numbers of rows. I've then got a button which takes this data into sheet 2. what i want to do is have a code so that when i put data in sheet 1 in row e it will number the data. so if theres ten rows of data in sheet 1, i want it to number from 1 to 10 in row e. However, it will start from e2 as i have headings in the first row. if this possible i would appreciate your help.

    Hi comp23,

You could use a formula. Enter 1 in Cell E2 and then in Cell E3 you enter this formula and copy it down as far as you want it to go.
